FOR RESEARCHERS

Knowledge is power.

Even in the 16th century, English philosopher Sir Francis Bacon recognized that. And all the vast changes in every facet of our society since Bacon uttered those words, their truth has not wavered.

The pursuit of that simple truth drives IPIC to raise questions, assemble data, develop theories, test suppositions, undertake analyses and find answers.

IPIC plays several crucial roles in Central Indiana. One is to be the "go to" source for workforce development. Another is to convene partners in building a dynamic workforce. Yet another is to ensure that those partners have the best workforce intelligence about the region's employer needs.

Those reasons are why IPIC conducts research or collaborates with researchers to produce studies. With knowledge, employers, educators, economic development leaders and others can make informed decisions about workforce strategies: what courses should be taught to prepare the future workforce, what major initiatives can be undertaken because skilled workers will be
available and what development projects make sense for our region.
