IPIC receives federal and state money to contract with other organizations to provide direct services to businesses and individuals. The WorkOne centers find skilled workers to satisfy businesses that come to us with specific workforce needs. They also give job seekers access to computers, the Internet and other services to conduct job searches. Some clients are eligible for more intensive services, such as skills and occupational training. We contract with 13 community-based organizations around the city to help young people to stay in school or, if they've dropped out, to get their GED; to get occupational and other kinds of training; to find jobs; and to get support services that make it possible for them to keep their jobs or stay in school. In addition, IPIC seeks government grants and private funding to undertake special projects. IPIC is an equal opportunity employer. |
